Flarès Alnéus: An exceptional career at the crossroads of languages, writing and
teaching
Born in Les Cayes, Haiti, Flarès Alnéus has nurtured a passion for languages and
literature, which has guided him towards a rich and multidimensional career.
Graduating in Modern Languages from the Université d'État d'Haïti (UEH) in 1996, he went on to pursue various
a Master's degree in Development Sciences from the UEH, training in German
German at the Institut Haïtiano-Allemand de Port-au-Prince, a bachelor's degree in Specialized Translation from Concordia University (Canada), and a
Master's degree in Adult Education from Yorkville University (Canada). He is fluent
in several languages, including Creole, French, English, Spanish, and functional
functional German.

 

On the professional front, Flarès Alnéus is distinguished by a wealth of experience
experience. He taught French, English, and Spanish in several schools and language
language institutes in Port-au-Prince, before joining the Canada School of Public Service
as a second language teacher. He also worked in
public security as an Interpol liaison officer, specializing in investigation
and translation. His passion for Belles-Lettres led him to publish several
books, including his first on public safety in 2008. Then, from 2008 to 2016,
he simultaneously wrote and published three novels and a collection of poems in different

literary genres, testifying to his eclecticism. In 2018, he published a romance novel 
followed in 2019 by a work on the resurgence of public insecurity in
in Haiti. In 2023, he brought out a gigantic didactic novel on the art of writing. 
Then, in 2025, four more books: a historical-sociopolitical essay, a romance novel,
a socio-political article, and an erotic trilogy. A prolific and atypical writer, editor, 
literary critic, historian, and linguist, he is also the founder and CEO of
of “Les Éditions Alnéus” and “Groupe FIEDEC (GF)”. A literary genius
and fervent defender of human rights, Flarès Alnéus has established himself as a
figure on the literary scene, brilliantly combining his talents as an educator 
creative, and committed thinker.
